Homemade Crackle Paint DIY

How to Make Crackle Paint with Glue: My 7 year old daughter had a great time working on this DIY project. Everything we used was kid friendly, so there was no worrying about any harmful chemicals.

Supplies: Crayola Washable Paint, Elmer’s Glue, Paint Brush and a glass jar (anything glass should work.) We would suggest painting on a paper plate, newspaper or a towel.

Directions: Apply 2 coats of your base color to the glass jar and let completely dry. Once dry apply a thin layer of Elmer’s Glue over your base coat. The paint is going to crackle in the direction in which you paint the glue, so feel free to paint in all different directions.

Once the coat of glue is tacky (ours took about 10 minutes) apply your top coat of paint. As the top coat dries you will see the crackle process begin. Watching paint dry can be fun for kids!

We added some colorful flowers to our mini jar to complete the project. Do you have any fun kids craft project you have tried? Leave us a comment below and tell us about it.
