Recently I learned how to crochet using YouTube videos and have found that it is the only thing that shuts my brain off. My daughter asked me to crochet her a headband with a button.
After watching many videos and trying out different patterns, I used some things from several patterns and made up my own video tutorial. Please keep in mind that while I was learning I stopped and started the videos over and over.
Also, if you think you have done something wrong it is better to take the stitch out right away then having to go back after you have gotten farther into the pattern.
You will need yarn (I use Lion Brand 4 or 5 weight), I 5.5mm hook, darning needle, button and a scissors.
Remember I am new to this and I may not use the proper name for some of the stitches I use. I am a firm believer in watching someone do it and following along.

I thought you did a very good explaining the whole process . Mine will be a child size but very happy with the results and anxious to make another.

written on 13 June 2015 -In your beginning chain, you did not need to chain 6 because you did not single crochet into that last chain. You skipped the first chain, did 4 single crochet stitches, and then skipped that last chain. You actually just need to chain 5 at the beginning instead of chaining 6, and single crochet into that last chain. I will be glad to help you any time you need it!
