DIY Chalkboard Wall Calendar: I have always loved looking at the chalkboard art and wall calendars on Pinterest and finally decided to give it a try. We are so glad we did!
Tools and Products:
Level
Pencil
Painters tape small and big roll
Black chalkboard paint (we used Glidden Disney Chalkboard Paint)
Throw away paint pan
3/8 paintbrush roller
First step is to decided how big you want to make your calendar, we decided on 4 ft by 4ft. Then you must measure it out… make sure you have 7 days. I posted the pic above to show you that I made a mistake and had 8 days. With a little reworking and taking off a row of tape, it all worked out. I forgot to take a photo of the actual calendar before I started painting.
Once you have your tape ready and your lines counted out several times you can start painting. I did 3 coats, each coat I painted in a different direction to make sure it covered nicely. I waited 3 hours in-between each coat.
Once I completed the last coat I removed my painters tape. Sometimes if you leave the tape on until it is completely dry you pull up the paint with the tape.
We waited 2 full days to draw on it just to make sure it was completely dry. We decided to use chalkboard markers that we found at Michael’s and Walmart.
Once we figured out the measuring, this project was really easy and fun! We would highly recommend try it out.
