DIY cabinet paint project: This hamper/cabinet may not have been old enough or used enough to warrant a makeover, but it was free so we thought we would give it a new look.
The plan was to slap on some new paint and switch out the knobs to give it a fun look for my daughters bedroom. There was only one problem… it’s not wood and painting over a non-wood surface can be a challenge.
We used Dutch Boy Paints and paint tape. It took 3 coats for a good cover.
We switched out the wood knobs for silver square knobs that we picked up at our local Walmart store.
If you are painting a non-wood item, I would recommend taking off the tape before it dries or you will pull up the paint.
My daughter loves it and it matches her room perfectly. There is always a feeling of satisfaction in DIY projects.
