Packing Tips for Business Travelers

Business Travel Tips Weve Tried It

Packing Tips for Business Travelers: One of our female readers asked for tips on packing for a business trip, a task that we’ll readily admit can be daunting.

Airlines now charge a fee for baggage and an additional charge for overweight luggage. Most business travelers favor a carry-on bag, thus eliminating the extra work associated with checked bags and the possibility that a lost or misdirected suitcase may not arrive with the traveler.

That said, savvy business travels have adopted the art of packing light by choosing neutral colored pants and skirts that can be paired with a number of light-weight blouses, scarves and jewelry. Don’t forget to include a nice jacket for dressier events and a pair of great looking shoes that will work for all occasions and are comfortable.

Exercise enthusiasts should also pack a set of workout clothes and athletic shoes. If you have the luxury of checking into your hotel before your first meeting, consider wearing jeans and your running shoes to and from the airport. Not only will you be more comfortable, but these bulkier items won’t take up valuable space in your carry-on.

The best way to keep clothing wrinkle-free is to fill up the suitcase space so that shifting is kept to a minimum. We recommend using interior straps, if available. Take care not to compress the folded items when the bag is closed.

Some travels purchase clothing folders, simple devices that are used to fold shirts and blouses like you might receive them from the dry cleaners. Place them in a plastic bag to further ensure your shirts arrive in great condition.

Toiletries, in miniature, should be placed in a zipper bags to ensure there are no spills. Doing so can save a mishap that could stain the suit you were planning to wear to an important negotiation session. It is also easy to pull out these personal care items for inspection during check-in.

Google your destination before packing to determine the weather during your stay. Will you need a raincoat and umbrella?

A lightweight laptop case that is easy to get into is a great investment. Make sure it has enough room for the rest of your devices and chargers. To ensure everything gets put into this all important case – MAKE A LIST and check it before you leave for the airport.

Wilderness Hotel and Golf Resort Review

The Wilderness Hotel and Resort

Wilderness Hotel and Golf Resort Review: If you are looking for a getaway that is fun for all ages, Wisconsin Dells is the place to go. After surveying our Facebook friends on the best place to stay in WD the majority said the Wilderness.

We booked a 3 bedroom frontier condo and had more than enough room for two families (7 people.) The bedrooms were all very spacious. It has a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, screened in porch and all the comforts of your own home.

Wilderness

The property consists of 600+ acres, the Wilderness Resort located in Wisconsin Dells is home to three amazing waterpark resorts: Wilderness Hotel & Golf Resort, Wilderness on the Lake and Glacier Canyon Lodge. Together, these properties make up America’s largest waterpark resort, offering 4 indoor and 4 outdoor waterparks totaling more than 500,000 square feet all reserved exclusively for Wilderness Resort guests. There is always something more to explore at the Wilderness.

Checking-In: The check in process was seamless. They had multiple windows available, so even though we arrived right at check-in time there was no wait. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the facility and went over all the amenities of the resort on the maps as well as directions to our condo. The check in packet includes coupons for many of the local eateries as well as a free coupon book.

Because the property is so big there are just too many outdoor and indoor waterparks to mention. What we can say is that each and every day you can visit a different one on the property. Most of the amenities including the waterparks are exclusively for hotel guests, so they are not nearly as crowded as many of the other resorts and you don’t have to wait in line for very long.

Indoor Waterparks: The indoor waterparks are great for families of all ages. They have activities for the littlest to biggest. The children’s areas are very well designed with small slides for the little ones all the way up to big curly slides for the bigger kids. The lifeguard staff was very focused and attentive. They not only have staff in the water areas, but also patrolling the outer areas. They are very courteous and willing to help when they see someone with an injury or in our case an unexpected bloody nose.

Zip Line Tour Wilderness Resort Wisconsin Dells Review

Zipline 5

Zip Line Tour Wilderness Resort Wisconsin Dells: There is so much to do in Wisconsin Dells! Aside from hitting the water slides, zip lining was at the top of our list.

Myself, Shirley and Lilly soared through the tree tops over Lost Canyon on a tour that spans 6 towers. We watched the canyon pass below our feet as we took the plunge over 60 feet in the air. After taking the first leap our nerves settled down and we had a lot of fun.

We were actually more nervous standing on the shaky tower waiting for our turn, than the actual zip lining.

Our group was really fun and cheered each other on. The guides make sure you are prepared for each jump. We videoed our adventure but you really only get to see us take off and land back on the platform because of the tree cover.

Reservations are required and the cost for resort guests was $45 and the public pays $65. We had to sign a waiver before taking the tour.

Rules, Restrictions and Regulations:

Participants must weigh at least 70 pounds and no more than 270 pounds.
Participants should be in good health and free of neck or back injuries.
Participants must wear closed-toe shoes which secure at the heel. Flip flops and slides may not be worn.
Participants under 17 must have signed permission from parent or legal guardian, and the parent or legal guardian must be present at beginning and end of tour.

The tour is designed for excitement! The tour consists of 6 platform towers & 5 “zips.”  Maximum tower height – 60 feet, maximum speed – 25 MPH, canyon floor – 55 feet down and the longest run – 907 feet.

If you are in Wisconsin Dells not only do we recommend staying at the Wilderness Hotel and Golf Resort, be sure to take the Zip Line Tour – good times!
