FabFitFun Subscription Box Review – By now I assume that you have seen the FabFitFun subscription boxes that everyone is talking about. After seeing some of my favorite celebrities’ box-opening YouTube videos, I decided to join in on the fun.

Recently I received my first box, which was the Editor’s Box. Based on that experience, I am already excited to get my Spring Box in the mail. Your box will be filled with beauty, wellness, fashion and fitness products. The value is worth $200 and up. The Editor’s Box was valued at $328.00.

Dermaplaning BB Makeup Cosmetic Bar Review: From the looks of my Facebook feed a good amount of my friends are trying out dermaplaning at BB Makeup Cosmetic Bar in Hudson, WI. I decided I better give it a try and see what the fuss is all about. But first I had to get past my fear of growing a beard once my facial hair started growing back.

Good news for me, your hair grows back just the way it was before dermaplaning. I am loving my new baby smooth skin, a bit bummed that I waited so long to try it. Dermaplaning is a method of exfoliation that consists of using a 10 gauge scalpel. This gently scrapes off the top layer of dead skin cells in order to reveal a smoother, brighter, glowing complexion. There was zero pain involved and the process takes less than 30 minutes.

After seeing a good majority of my friend on Facebook inquiring about how to get a certain product, I needed to know more, so I did my own research about the company and products.

In the middle of March my friend posted about one of the EVER products called LAVISH. Her status showed that the “miracle cream” was out of stock and would be available soon.

I now have the entire line and while I am truly thrilled with it all, here are a few of my absolute favorites: REVEAL, DAYLIGHT, HYDRALIFT, EVERBRIGHT, REVIVE, LAVISH and OVERNIGHT FACIAL.

Don’t even get me started on the OVERNIGHT FACIAL – I want to bathe in it. It is so wonderful. I wish I would have taken before and after photos. After using the regimen daily I can tell a big difference in my overall appearance. My skin simply feels healthy and mentally that makes me feel great.

MABOX Deep Cleansing Black Mask Review: The latest craze is using charcoal masks to remove blackheads and cleanse your skin. After watching some YouTube video fails one might wonder why we would want to risk it. I am now wondering why as well.

We did a Facebook Live video of our experience that you can watch and see just how much it hurt taking it off. Missy more so than Shirley, clearly she has leather skin or put moisturizer all over her face before she applied the mask.

The smell was horrible. I couldn’t decide if it smelled like tar or gasoline, I was actually nauseous all night long after taking the mask off. It took around 5 hours for my face to stop burning.

I didn’t break out and my face did actually feel smoother after we were done. We would expect that after feeling like we ripped a layer of skin off of our face. I did notice blackhead in the mask after I removed it. So, yes it worked in that sense and my pores looked clean.

Would I do it again? No. The smell and burn were just too much! What should we try next, leave a comment below.

Homemade Blackhead Remover Recipe

Homemade Blackhead Remover Recipe – Nobody wants to admit that they have blackheads, but (Missy does)… My guess is that at some point in time you have tried blackhead removal strips that you can buy at the store. This 2 ingredient recipe works great.

1 Tablespoon Milk

1 Tablespoon Knox Gelatine

Simple! Just mix the two ingredients and stir. The mixture will be firm. Once completely mixed put in the microwave for 10 seconds on medium heat and stir. Be sure not to cook any longer or it will burn your skin. Test it with your finger to make sure that it isn’t too hot before putting on your nose.

Use a paint brush to spread evenly over your nose, covering all blackheads. Let sit for 1o minutes. You will feel it stiffen and pull on your skin. Hopefully you enjoy the smell of warm milk! After 10 minutes pull off. You may even notice some hair along with the blackheads.

Gold Anti Aging Facial BB Makeup Cosmetic Bar: It’s been a long time since I have treated myself to a facial and with all the stress of the past couple of weeks I decided now was the time to treat myself to a facial. So I decided to give my friend Brooke from BB Makeup a call and schedule “me time.”

The pampering at BB Makeup starts even before the facial starts. The facial room is beautifully decorated and there is relaxing music playing in the background. Brooke started out by wrapping me in a soft, warm robe and sitting me down in the massage chair. Warmed booties are put on my feet, a warmed neck warmer is placed around my neck and I am tucked in with soft warm blankets. If you think this sounds amazing, it really is and she hasn’t even started the facial yet.

I have had facials in the past and they were all very relaxing, but the facial at BB Makeup was by far the most hands on, in-depth facial I have ever had. For the entire hour Brooke was hands on except for the time I was under the light therapy mask. I was so relaxed throughout the whole facial that I can’t even begin to tell you everything that was done.

I can tell you that my favorite part of the facial was definitely the hot stone massage. I didn’t even know you could have a hot stone face massage, but trust me you can and it is amazing.

With the gold anti-aging facial you really do get real gold applied to your face. The gold is said to improve skin texture, tone, appearance, redness, elasticity, wrinkles, dark spots, and hydration. Gold facials go all the way back to the time of Cleopatra. She is rumored it to have done it every night to maintain her beauty. I can see why!

My skin has never felt so soft! Ask everyone I have seen today, I have made them all feel how soft my face is. I left Bb Makeup feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. I am going to make an effort to have BB facials become a more regular part of my life.

Tangled Salon and Spa Missy Gets a Makeover – Generally people don’t cut the majority of their hair off right before winter but I was ready for an extreme change. A big shout out to my hairstylist of many years Nan Grekoff co-owner of Tangled Salon and Spa in Hudson, WI for allowing We’ve Tried It to come in and video the experience.

Not only did I get the full treatment from Nan, stylist Justine Burton did my makeup to make sure I looked my best for the big reveal. I may have to watch the video several times to see exactly how Justine did my eyes with the POP of blue.

I must admit I am a bit of a baby when it comes to putting bleach on my head… I like to say that I have a very sensitive scalp. So if I am acting up in the video just keep in mind my “sensitive scalp”.

Halloween Makeup Ideas with BB Makeup Cosmetic Bar – We are one week away from Halloween and we still haven’t figured out what we are going to dress up as.

We’ve Tried It enlisted the help of Brooke Fleetwood owner of BB Makeup Cosmetic Bar in Hudson, WI and artist Colleen Schullo to test out a couple Halloween looks on our very own Phatphood and ‘On the Fly‘ MY29 television host Tony Fly. Both guys shave their heads and both have goatees to work around. Phat is into scary clowns and well Tony didn’t give us any ideas so we went with a pumpkin skeleton.
