Baked Avocado and Egg Recipe: We don’t know about you, but anything with avocados makes us happy!
These avocado and egg breakfast cups make a quick, delicious and healthy breakfast. The combination of protein and healthy fats are the perfect combination.
You can choose whatever toppings you would like, this time we stuck to the basics. For a southern flair add some salsa or pico de gallo.
2 Halved Avocados
1/4 Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese

First up on this crawl is Bogart’s Doughnut Co. Located at 904 West 36th St, Minneapolis, MN. The donut given to me is a house brioche with dark chocolate. Fresh and tasty! Also, for me you can’t go wrong with dark chocolate. They have a Nutella filled donut here as well.
Venison Jerky Recipe: It’s deer hunting season again and if you are like my house, you still have some venison from last season. We decided to make jerky with our roasts in order to make room for fresh venison.
1 Tbs. Salt
1 Tbs. Onion Powder
1 Tbs. Garlic Powder
1 Tsp. Pepper
1/2 Tsp. Cayenne Pepper
1 Tbs. Worcestershire Sauce
1/4 Cup Teriyaki Sauce
3-4 Lb. Venison Roast
Slice the roast into 1/8″ – 1/4″ thick slices with the grain. Mix all dry ingredients together and then add your wet ingredients; mix thoroughly. Place your slices of venison in the marinade; covering completely. Refrigerate overnight.
Dehydrate the venison for 6-7 hours. I rotated trays every 1 1/2 – 2 hours.
Dehydrate until tenderness is to your liking. Note: Jerky will seem to be more dry over time after dehydration. So what one would think is too tender or underdone could be just right over 1 hour or 2 after.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Pie Recipe: Looking for a quick and delicious dessert to whip up for an upcoming party? This is it!
1 Oreo cookie pie crust
1 box instant chocolate pudding
8oz Cool Whip
2 C milk
6 Peanut Butter Cups
Mix 1 box of instant chocolate pudding mix and milk as directed until firm. Add Cool Whip into pudding.
Pour your pudding mixture into the Oreo pie crust. Top with chopped Peanut Butter Cups. Refrigerate until ready to serve. So simple and so good!

Lemon Loaf Cake Recipe: I love just about anything lemon! Lemon bars, lemon cake, lemonade, lemon skittles and even just straight lemons! My favorite is the lemon loaf cake from Starbucks and was hoping to recreate that.
There are so many recipes out there for different kinds of lemon cakes, but until now I wasn’t getting the full lemon flavor that I was looking for. Combining a couple recipes I came up with the perfect one for flavor, but not as dense as Starbucks.
My initial plan was to make extra and share with some friends, so I made both a loaf and cupcakes. Truth be told the cupcakes were done first and we ate most of them before the loaf was even finished baking. There will be no sharing.
1 box yellow cake mix
2.9 oz box cook & serve lemon pudding
1/2 cup vegetable oil
4 large eggs
1/2 cup milk
8 ounces sour cream
6 tablespoons lemon juice
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 2 loaf pans (9×5) or cupcake pans with cooking spray.
Combine all cake ingredients into mixing bowl. Mix for 1 1/2 minutes. Pour batter into prepared loaf or cupcake pans. For loaf pans bake for about 50 minutes. For cupcake pans bake for about 15 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from oven and let cool for about 10 minutes before removing from pans. Let cool completely before frosting.
2 cups powders sugar
4 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon water
Combine powdered sugar, lemon juice and water (if needed) in medium bowl. Drizzle icing over completely cooled loaves or cupcakes and enjoy.
Both the loaves and cupcakes turned out light and fluffy and were a great treat for my family.
Cheeseburger Soup Recipe: This is absolutely my favorite soup to make. It is rich, hearty, filling and best when served with hot crusty bread.
2 pounds hamburger (we used Thousand Hills antibiotic free)
10 medium potatoes cubed
1 large onion diced
1 1/2 cups shredded carrots
1 1/2 cups celery diced
2 large containers of chicken stock
16oz of Velveeta Cheese
2 cups of milk
1 stick butter
salt and pepper
1 tablespoon basil
In large frying pan brown your 2lbs. of hamburger, drain and set aside.
In a large soup pot melt 1 tablespoon of butter and then saute onions, celery, carrots and basil until tender. Add potatoes and hamburger then cover with chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cover, simmering until the potatoes are at your desired tenderness.
In a small skillet melt 1/2 cup butter then add 1/2 cup flour. Continually whisk until the mixture is bubbling. Pour into soup pot and bring the soup back to a boil. Stirring for several minutes to thicken the soup. Reduce heat to low.
Add milk, cheese, salt and pepper. Stir until the cheese is completely melted.
Remove from heat and serve. We garnished our soup with a spoonful of sour cream and some shredded cheddar cheese.
Make Caramel From Sweetened Condensed Milk: Is it really possible to make caramel just using sweetened condensed milk? We love caramel, so we put it to the test!
If you have ever tried to make homemade caramel you know it can be tricky to make. After reading that all you need to do is boil a can of sweetened condensed milk for 2 1/2 hours and like magic, you have caramel…we knew we had to try it!
We set out to see if it was just that easy. Watch the video below to see how it turned out for us.
It is important to let your sweetened condensed milk completely cool after taking it out of the boiling water and before opening the lid. The caramel will also thicken upon sitting in the refrigerator.
We are planning on pouring our caramel over ice cream and brownies. Delicious! It would also be perfect for dipping sliced apples in. The options are endless.

Hibachi Yum Yum Sauce Recipe: We don’t know about you, but when we go out for hibachi the yum yum sauce is our favorite. While most just use it for their vegetables, we use it on everything.
We have tried various yum yum sauce recipes but the one that we found on Allrecipes.com tasted just like our favorite hibachi restaurant. It is amazing how even the kids will eat their vegetables with this delicious sauce.
Yum Yum Sauce Ingredients:
1 tsp. tomato paste
1 Tbsp. melted butter
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/3 tsp. paprika
1 1/4 cups mayonnaise
1 tsp. sugar
1 pinch cayenne pepper
1/4 cup water
Whisk all the above ingredients together. It is best if covered and refrigerated overnight. We couldn’t wait that long and used our yum yum sauce after 2 hours and it was delicious.
Grilled Vegetables: Cut up vegetables of your choice, put in a bowl and drizzle with olive oil, salt and pepper to taste. Toss to lightly coat. Place on heated grill or frying pan turning as needed until cooked.

Avocado and Bacon Egg Rolls Recipe: We are always looking for new delicious treats to make for Sunday funday. We definitely scored a with these little goodies.
Combining a couple different recipes that we found on Pinterest, we came up with avocado and bacon egg rolls. Now, winging it doesn’t always work for us but this time it worked out!
3 ripe avocados
1/2 white onion diced
1/2 Roma tomato diced
1/2 lb bacon
Egg Roll Wraps
Salt & Pepper
Directions: Cut up your half pound of bacon and fry to make bacon bits. While bacon bits are cooling place the avocado, diced onion and diced tomatoes in a bowl and mash (we used a potato masher.)
Homemade Hot Cocoa Recipe: When the weather starts to get chilly outside, my daughter loves to have a nice warm cup of hot cocoa when she comes in from playing outside. I decided this year to make the hot cocoa mix instead of spending a ton of money on the store-bought packets.
This was so quick – I should have done it years ago!
2/3 Cup Cocoa Powder
1 1/3 Cup Sugar
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
Simply pour the ingredients into a seal-able jar and shake to mix.
Heat up a cup of milk and mix in 1-2 tablespoon of your mixture and enjoy. This also tastes great in cold milk for a big glass of chocolate milk!
